Treating transgender people with dignity - New advice guide
On 20 May this year, Jersey’s Employment and Discrimination Tribunal ruled that, when using an organisation's toilet facilities, the needs of transgender people must be met appropriately.
The recommendations from the ruling, including the use of appropriate signage for facilities, serve as good practice in how to treat transgender people with respect for businesses, wherever those businesses might be based.
Our latest advice guide Treating transgender people with dignity outlines the recommendations highlighted in this case as well as an overview of the legal obligations for businesses operating in Jersey since sex discrimination was added to Discrimination (Jersey) Law 2013 in September 2015.
